
Masafer Yatta and the Northern Jordan Valley: August 17, 2026
The Ministry of Agriculture continued implementing the National Campaign for Livestock Tagging and Preventive Vaccination against Foot-and-Mouth Disease (SAT-1). Veterinary teams carried out 5,400 new operations in Masafer Yatta and the Northern Jordan Valley, bringing the cumulative total of vaccinations and tagging operations since the campaign's launch to 147,710.
In Rahila area of Masafer Yatta, 800 vaccinations and 800 animal tagging operations were carried out, benefiting 20 livestock breeders. The Tubas Directorate of Agriculture and Veterinary Services also conducted 900 vaccinations and 900 animal tagging operations in Yarza, Ein al-Bayda, and Atouf, benefiting 11 breeders. Additionally, 1,000 vaccinations and 1,000 animal tagging operations were carried out in the Yarza, Atouf, and al-Hamma areas, benefiting 7 livestock breeders.
The Ministry of Agriculture affirms the continuation of the campaign to reach the targeted areas, enhance prevention of foot-and-mouth disease, protect livestock, and support breeders, thereby contributing to improved animal health and food security.
