Under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Jordanian-Palestinian Agricultural Marketing Company, exported more than 120 tons of citrus fruits (lemons) to the United Arab Emirates markets during February. This was achieved through a contract and agreement with supermarket and hypermarket chains, for a total agreed-upon quantity of 500 tons.

This export comes as part of ongoing efforts to open regional markets to Palestinian agricultural products, in addition to supplying other agricultural products that will be announced soon.

Slaimiya added that the Ministry of Agriculture is making every effort to enable Palestinian products to reach foreign markets. The Ministry works within a program funded by the World Bank to strengthen the infrastructure for Palestinian exports by equipping a packing and packaging center and refrigerated warehouses in Jericho area, providing appropriate packing lines, in addition to qualifying farmers to obtain the Palestinian quality certificate (PalGAP), in addition to the global quality certificate (GlobalGAP), which enhances the competitiveness of Palestinian products in foreign markets
