Slaimiyah meets with farmers from Yatta and Al-Samu’ and delivers financial grants to 141 beneficiaries within the field and fodder crops project in partnership with FAO

Minister of Agriculture, Professor Riziq Slaimiyah, met with farmers in the city of Yatta and distributed financial grants to 141 young beneficiaries (aged 19-29) as part of the first phase of the Field and Fodder Crops Development Project. The project is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and with support from the Danish government. The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Yatta, Muhammad Omar Abu Subha, the FAO's Director of Programs and Projects, Engineer Nasr Samara, the Head of the Chamber of Commerce, and several heads of local institutions and organizations in Yatta and As-Samu.

The project aims to support farmers and youth and promote the cultivation of field and fodder crops, contributing to improved agricultural production and the creation of sustainable income opportunities in rural areas. The first phase benefited 141 individuals from various targeted communities.

The project targets agricultural work on 1,100 dunams, with work completed on 295 dunams during the first phase. The second phase is scheduled to launch in October and November to complete the planned interventions.

Minister Slaimiyah affirmed that the Ministry continues to support farmers and youth through productive projects that enhance food security and resilience on their land. The Mayor of Yatta praised the project's importance in serving farmers, and Engineer Nasr Samara confirmed the FAO's continued support for agricultural and development projects that contribute to improving livelihoods and promoting rural development.

Slaimiyah also visited Yatta region and met with the Secretary of the Fatehh Movement, Major General Nabil Abu Qubaita, and members of the regional committee to discuss the agricultural needs of the area.
