The Minister of Agriculture announces the start of disbursing the second installment of the EU-funded agricultural assistance program worth 2.2 million shekels for the benefit of 52 agricultural projects in West Bank.

⭕ 25 agricultural projects have been allocated in this phase to support affected farmers in the governorates of Nablus, Tulkarm, Tubas, and Qalqilya, with a value exceeding 1.12 million shekels.

Minister of Agriculture, Professor Riziq Slaimiya, along with the Governor of Nablus, Ghassan Daghlas, chaired a meeting with farmers benefiting from the agricultural assistance program funded by the European Union and implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture. The meeting was also attended by heads and representatives of municipal and village councils from the governorates of Nablus, Tulkarm, Qalqilya, and Tubas, as part of the ongoing monitoring of the program's implementation and to enhance direct communication with beneficiaries.

Slaimiya confirmed that the ministry will begin disbursing the second installment of the program tomorrow, totaling 2.2 million shekels. Of this, 1.12 million shekels are allocated to 25 diverse agricultural projects in the four aforementioned governorates. He explained that these projects aim to support affected farmers, bolster their resilience, and enable them to continue cultivating their land and improving their agricultural production.

The minister noted that the Ministry of Agriculture continues to implement its development programs in partnership with the European Union and donors, stemming from its responsibility to strengthen farmers' resilience in all its forms. He emphasized that these interventions contribute to supporting farming families, enhancing production, and achieving sustainable agricultural development in the most affected areas, in addition to encouraging agricultural investment and increasing farmers' ability to continue production.

For his part, Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas praised the program's importance in supporting farmers and strengthening their resilience on their land. He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and the European Union in implementing quality projects that address the needs of the agricultural sector and mitigate the effects of the occupation's attacks on farmers. This meeting is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to monitor the implementation of the EU-funded agricultural assistance program and strengthen partnerships with local authorities and farmers. This aims to protect agricultural lands, support the resilience of citizens, and achieve agricultural development in the governorates. It is worth noting that the distribution of projects in this phase will be completed within the next two days in the remaining governorates.
