Jerusalem Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), conducted a participatory workshop to identify the training needs of farmers participating in the fourth phase of (EVAP) project. The workshop was attended by 15 farmers from the northwest Jerusalem area, representing Al-Judeira Women's Association.
The workshop addressed the practical challenges women farmers face in agricultural production and the skills and knowledge required to enhance their production practices. It also focused on identifying training priorities aligned with their actual needs and market demands.
Facilitated by Engineer Nabiha Salman, the workshop underscored the importance of involving women farmers in setting training priorities. This participatory approach contributes to designing more effective extension programs, developing agricultural skills, creating new market-competitive products, improving marketing opportunities, and enhancing the value-added potential of agricultural products.
This workshop is part of the EVAP project activities—funded by JICA and implemented in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture—which aim to build farmers' capacities and upgrade agricultural extension services. These efforts seek to ensure that development interventions effectively address field-level needs while strengthening farmers' competitiveness and market access.
