Ministry of Agriculture: Tulkarem Directorate of Agriculture supplies 400 meters of mineral water pipes with funding from GIZ and the German Federal Ministry to farmers in the Plain of Shweika .

As part of the Palestinian government's emergency response program to bolster farmers' resilience, Tulkarem Directorate of Agriculture delivered 400 meters of 6-inch diameter metal water pipes and four 6-inch diameter metal valves to a groundwater well in Shweika area. This initiative was supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

This step was taken in response to the needs of farmers affected in Shweika plain, whose water lines were damaged during land leveling operations and attacks on the area. This damage disrupted water access to agricultural lands and prevented farmers from continuing to cultivate them.

This support is part of the "Strengthening Livelihoods of Rural Communities in the Northern West Bank – Phase III" project, implemented in partnership between the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The total value of the support provided amounted to approximately €12,000. The project aims to enhance farmers' resilience by developing agricultural infrastructure, improving access to water and energy, and supporting the production and marketing capacities of farmers' associations, particularly those run by women and youth, in addition to improving agricultural extension services provided by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The pipe installation work is being carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture. This will contribute to the rehabilitation of the water pipeline, improve water access to agricultural lands, and strengthen the ability of farmers in Shweika Plain to continue cultivating their land.
