Ministry of Agriculture: Tulkarem Agriculture Directorate, alongside Oxfam, the Lending Institution, and the RWDA, handed over three fresh vegetable value chain projects in Anabta, Deir al-Ghusun, and Ellar

Tulkarem Directorate of Agriculture conducted handover visits to three agricultural projects in the towns of Anabta, Deir al-Ghusun, and Ellar, in partnership with the Palestinian Agricultural Lending Institution, Oxfam, and the Rural Women's Development Association, as part of a financing program targeting vegetable producers.

These projects are being implemented within the framework of the farmer support program launched by the Palestinian Agricultural Lending Institution several months ago. Beneficiaries were selected based on their adherence to the technical and administrative terms and conditions outlined in the program document.

The program focuses on supporting entrepreneurial projects, particularly those managed by youth and women, contributing to the development and improvement of the fresh vegetable value chain. This support is provided through the establishment of new projects or the development of existing ones, with a clear priority given to the targeted groups in the covered governorates.

This intervention falls under the project "Increasing the Benefits of Women, Youth, and Small Farmers as Change Agents in the Fresh Vegetable Value Chain," which aims to strengthen the role of these groups in the agricultural sector and improve their economic opportunities. Following the completion and evaluation of the projects, farmers received financial incentives directly into their bank accounts for projects that demonstrated success, sustainability, and alignment with the program's objectives. These incentives were provided in proportion to the evaluation results and the allocated funding for each project.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that these efforts are part of its policy to empower farmers, enhance agricultural production, and support value chains, thereby contributing to sustainable agricultural development and improved livelihoods in rural Palestine.
