Ministry of Agriculture: Tulkarem Agriculture and the Union of Agricultural Cooperative Societies, with funding from Oxfam, deliver 130,000 thyme seedlings to 50 farmers

Tulkarm Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Union of Agricultural Cooperative Societies in Palestine, distributed 130,000 thyme seedlings to 50 farmers from various areas of the governorate. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to bolster farmers' resilience and support the agricultural sector.

This activity falls under the Emergency Humanitarian Response Program, funded by Oxfam Novib and implemented by the Union of Agricultural Cooperative Societies in Palestine, in collaboration with several agricultural cooperatives in the towns of Anabta, Kafr al-Labad, Zeita, Kafr Jamal, Attil, al-Nazla al-Sharqiya, and Baqa al-Sharqiya, as well as the Palestinian Farmers Association.

This intervention not only supports agricultural production but also has a significant humanitarian dimension. It contributes to promoting home gardening in available spaces, helping farming families secure some of their food needs and improve their income, especially given the current difficult economic conditions. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Union of Agricultural Cooperative Societies affirm that these efforts are part of ongoing plans to enhance the resilience of farmers, enable them to invest in their lands, and support the role of agricultural cooperatives, thereby contributing to the sustainability of the agricultural sector and mitigating the effects of economic challenges and attacks on land and people in the targeted areas.
