Ministry of Agriculture: Tulkarem Agriculture and FAO sign investment support agreements within (MAPII) program with a total value of (852,944) shekels

Tulkarem: April 7, 2026

Tulkarem Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), signed agreements to support agricultural investment in the governorate, totaling 852,944 NIS. This support falls under the Multi-Donor Agricultural Action Programme (MAP II), "Promoting Market-Oriented Investments and Innovations for the Development of a Sustainable Agricultural and Food System" in the West Bank.

These agreements will be implemented within the framework of two agricultural projects aimed at supporting investment in the agricultural sector and enhancing productivity. This will be achieved through targeted interventions that improve the efficiency of agricultural projects and increase their market access.

MAP II program contributed approximately 379,833 NIS to these projects, while the beneficiaries contributed approximately 473,110 NIS, as part of a partnership aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural investment. The implemented interventions include a range of diverse agricultural projects, such as establishing a feed mill, developing a vegetable farm, establishing a vineyard, developing a water well, and developing a fruit farm. These projects contribute to supporting farmers, improving their income sources, and strengthening their resilience on their land.

The investment support agreements are being implemented within the framework of two projects under an initiative by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture. The Multi-Donor Agribusiness Programme (MAP II), entitled "Promoting Market-Oriented Investments and Innovations for the Sustainable Development of Food and Agriculture Systems," is funded by the governments of Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, and the European Union, with parallel funding from the government of Italy, as part of the project "Promoting Innovative and Sustainable Market-Oriented Investments in the Agri-Food Sector in the West Bank."
