Tubas: September 30, 2026

Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), conducted a participatory workshop to identify the training needs of female farmers participating in the fourth phase of the "Extension for Value-Added Agriculture" (EVAP) project. Fifteen female farmers from Aqaba area participated in the session.
The workshop addressed the practical challenges female farmers face in agricultural and production activities, as well as the skills and knowledge required to enhance their production practices. It also focused on establishing training priorities aligned with their actual needs and market demands.
Facilitated by engineers Fayez Amro, Ahmed Mutawa, and Ilham Hamdan, the workshop emphasized the importance of involving female farmers in setting training priorities. This approach contributes to designing more effective extension programs that respond to field needs, developing agricultural skills, creating new value-added products capable of market competition, and improving marketing opportunities and market access.
This workshop is part of the activities of EVAP project, which is funded by JICA and implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture. The project aims to build farmers' capacities, upgrade agricultural extension services, enhance the value-added nature of agricultural products, and strengthen the ability of farmers to compete and access markets.
