Ministry of Agriculture: Salfit Agriculture Directorate continues implementing field school activities in Iskaka with the participation of 15 women and with the support of UNDP

The Ministry of Agriculture, through Salfit Agriculture Directorate, continued its field school activities in the village of Iskaka. This is part of a series of ongoing extension meetings since the beginning of the year, aimed at empowering rural women and enhancing their knowledge in olive cultivation.

The activity included a specialized training session presented by Engineer Awland Ajlouni, Head of the Olive Department, and Engineer Maysaa Maakousa, Head of the Rural Development Department. The session covered the technical guidelines to be followed during April for olive tree care, including monitoring pests to determine the level of infestation, cleaning the land, and performing light tillage when necessary.

The session also addressed several aspects related to olive product processing, contributing to improved product quality and added value.

The meeting targeted approximately 15 women participating in the field school in the village, as part of a comprehensive program designed to enhance the efficiency of agricultural practices among the participants. This program will continue until the end of the agricultural season. This activity comes as part of a project implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in the context of supporting the resilience of farmers and promoting sustainable rural development in the governorate.
