Salfit: April 6, 2026
Salfit Directorate of Agriculture helds a coordination meeting with the Palestinian Hydrologists Association to discuss the implementation mechanisms of the Livelihoods, Infrastructure, and Food Systems Enhancement (LIFT) program. This program is funded by Swedish Relief Aid and managed by We Effect, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture.
During the meeting, the program's objectives and planned interventions in the targeted villages of Marda, Kafr Haris, Haris, Qira, and Deir Istiya were reviewed. These interventions are scheduled to take place between 2025 and 2029.
The program aims to support the resilience of farmers and improve their living conditions through a package of development projects. These projects include rehabilitating agricultural land, extending irrigation networks, constructing a 200-cubic-meter metal water tank, establishing agricultural fences and home gardens, setting up food processing units, and conducting specialized training courses. Other interventions will also contribute to developing the agricultural sector and enhancing food security in the governorate.
