Ministry of Agriculture: North Hebron Agriculture Directorate implements olive field school activities in Sa’ir for 15 female farmers in partnership with the (UNDP).

The North Hebron Agriculture Directorate conducted a field school for olive cultivation in the town of Sa'ir, with the participation of 15 female farmers. This initiative is part of the "My Initiative" project, implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and aims to empower rural women and enhance their knowledge and skills in olive cultivation, thereby contributing to increased productivity and improved livelihoods.

During the meeting, the Head of the Olive Department, Engineer Mai Arar, the Head of the Rural Development Department, Engineer Shawq Bahr, and the Director of the Agriculture and Veterinary Department in Sa'ir, Engineer Jadie' Farroukh, assessed the needs of the field school participants. This assessment will pave the way for assisting them in implementing small income-generating projects, thus strengthening the role of rural women in economic and social development.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that field schools represent one of the most important participatory agricultural extension programs, as they provide a platform for exchanging experiences and practical knowledge, and empower farmers to adopt sound agricultural practices that contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of production. This activity is being implemented as part of the “My Initiative” project, which is being carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), within the framework of efforts to support the resilience of farmers, empower rural women, and promote sustainable rural development in Hebron Governorate.
