Ramallah: April 23, 2026

Ramallah and Al-Bireh Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization  (FAO), concluded the "Green Jobs and Sustainable Income Opportunities for Young Palestinian Men and Women in the Agricultural and Food Business Sector" project, funded by the Danish government. This project is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to strengthen farmers' resilience and expand employment opportunities in the agricultural sector.

This project aligns with the Ministry's objectives of economically empowering young men and women and promoting sustainable agricultural production. It targeted 176 beneficiaries from various areas within the governorate and contributed to the cultivation of a total of 673 dunams with diverse crops, including lentils, chickpeas, vetch, and alfalfa.

The agricultural activities within the project were distributed across the villages of Sinjil, Abu Falah, and Al-Mughayyir, contributing to improved agricultural productivity, enhanced food security, and the provision of sustainable income opportunities for the targeted groups. The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that this project represents a successful model of integration between national and international efforts in supporting the agricultural sector, stressing its continued commitment to implementing development programs and projects that contribute to empowering youth, strengthening the resilience of citizens on their land, and achieving sustainable agricultural development.
