The Agricultural Extension Office at Yatta Directorate of Agriculture and Veterinary Services conducted a field extension visit to a mushroom farm and a layer hen farm as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance farmers' practical knowledge and improve agricultural production efficiency.
During the visit, the extension team provided a range of technical recommendations and practical guidance on modern farm management methods. At a mushroom farm, the focus was on improving production conditions, including ventilation, humidity, and sterilization techniques, to enhance product quality and increase productivity.
At a layer hen farm, the visit addressed the principles of proper nutrition, disease prevention methods, the importance of adhering to vaccination programs, and improving rearing conditions to ensure the production of high-quality eggs that meet approved health standards.
These visits are part of the Directorate of Agriculture's plan to strengthen field-based agricultural extension services and improve farmers' skills, thereby supporting local production and achieving sustainability in the agricultural sector.
