Nablus Directorate of Agriculture, in partnership with Nablus Governorate, organized a preparatory meeting today—Thursday—for the olive harvest season as part of the "Olive 2026" national campaign. The meeting was held under the patronage and in the presence of Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas, the meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Abdullah Al-Asali, Nablus Director of Agriculture Eng. Ziad Fadda, as well as representatives from official, security, and civil society institutions and partners operating in the governorate. The meeting aimed to discuss field preparations for the season and to enhance readiness and joint coordination to ensure the protection of farmers and enable them to access their lands and harvest their crops, particularly in areas subject to repeated attacks.

During the meeting, Governor Daghlas emphasized the importance of unifying and integrating the efforts of all relevant stakeholders throughout the olive harvest season and providing the necessary support and assistance to farmers. He stressed the need for collaborative action to guarantee safe access to their lands and enable them to benefit from their harvests, especially in agricultural areas facing challenges and recurring attacks.

For his part, the Director of Agriculture in Nablus, Eng. Ziad Fadda, highlighted the importance of early preparation for the season and enhancing coordination among various entities. He noted that the Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with its staff and partners, is working to organize field efforts and identify needs and priorities. These actions aim to provide the best forms of support and assistance to farmers and to improve the speed of response to challenges they may encounter during the season. The meeting addressed mechanisms to enhance cooperation and coordination among various official bodies, security agencies, and civil society organizations. It also focused on establishing clear procedures for joint action and rapid response to field-level needs and challenges that may arise during the season, thereby boosting preparedness and ensuring intervention and support for farmers across the governorate.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion allowing participants to address various field needs and challenges and to propose strategies for organizing operations during the olive harvest season. The aim was to formulate a comprehensive work program and roadmap that enhances field monitoring, protects agricultural lands, and coordination, to ensure the provision of support and assistance to farmers throughout the season.
