The executive team of the Agricultural Assistance Program at Nablus Directorate of Agriculture held a meeting today, Monday, September 7, 2026, with 70 farmers nominated to benefit from the EU-funded Agricultural Assistance Program, as part of the program's second phase. The meeting took place at Nablus Governorate headquarters, with the participation of Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas and the Director General of Nablus Directorate of Agriculture, Dr. Ziad Fadda.
The meeting aimed to familiarize farmers with the requirements and mechanisms for disbursing the grant, the necessary documentation to complete the application process, and to review the agricultural projects proposed for implementation within the program. It also addressed mechanisms for utilizing the support in a way that contributes to project development, enhanced agricultural production, and its sustainability.
Governor Daghlas emphasized the importance of supporting the agricultural sector and farmers, considering them a cornerstone of the national economy. He stressed the need to direct support programs toward strengthening farmers' resilience and developing their productive capacities, thereby contributing to the protection, investment, and preservation of land.
For his part, Dr. Fadda reviewed the most prominent aspects of the program and the mechanisms for benefiting from it, stressing the importance of farmers’ commitment to the approved standards and procedures, and benefiting from the support in a way that serves the development of their agricultural projects and enhances their sustainability.
