Ministry of Agriculture: Nablus Agriculture Directorate and FAO sign investment support agreements within MAP II projects with a total value of (1,567,768) shekels

Nablus Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), signed a series of agreements to support agricultural investment. These agreements are part of a number of development projects aimed at boosting agricultural production and improving farmers' livelihoods.

The agreements cover support for seven diverse agricultural and production projects in Nablus Governorate. These projects include developing tree nurseries, vineyards and mushroom farms, establishing beekeeping and hive manufacturing projects, and developing an olive oil mill and packing facility. The total value of the investments reached 1,567,768 NIS, of which the program contributed 714,224 NIS, while the beneficiaries contributed 853,544 NIS.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that these projects are part of its support for sustainable agricultural investment and the strengthening of agricultural value chains, which contributes to job creation and economic development in rural Palestine. The projects were distributed among a number of farmers and entrepreneurs in the governorate, reflecting the diversity of interventions that meet the needs of different agricultural sectors and contribute to developing the production infrastructure and improving the quality of local products.

The investment support agreements are being implemented within the framework of two projects under an initiative by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture. The Multi-Donor Agribusiness Programme (MAP II), entitled "Promoting Market-Led Investments and Innovations for the Sustainable Development of Food and Agriculture Systems," is funded by the governments of Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, and the European Union, with parallel funding from the government of Italy under the project "Promoting Innovative and Sustainable Market-Led Investments in the Agri-Food Sector in the West Bank."
