The Extension Services Department at South Hebron Agriculture Directorate (Ruminants Section) held its second and third meetings as part of an intensive series of extension sessions targeting sheep farmers in Al-Sarra area, south of Dura. This activity aligns with the Ministry of Agriculture's vision to strengthen farmers' resilience and develop the livestock sector in marginalized areas.

The meetings saw wide participation from approximately 40 farmers benefiting from the "My Initiative" project. During the first two sessions, Engineer Ahmed Atbisha provided detailed technical explanations on the importance of adhering to biosecurity measures as a cornerstone for limiting the spread of infectious diseases. The meetings also highlighted the most important breeds raised in Palestine and their characteristics, in addition to providing scientific guidance on proper nutrition for flocks during various physiological stages.

It is worth noting that the "My Initiative – Empowering Marginalized Communities through Investment in Agribusiness Development" project is being implemented jointly by the Ministry of Agriculture and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with generous support from India, Brazil, and South Africa through the IBSA Fund.

This strategic intervention aims to build the institutional and technical capacities of farmers and achieve sustainable development in rural Palestine, thereby improving the agricultural and living conditions in these areas.
