Bethlehem Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation and coordination with the village council, conducted an urgent field intervention today, Monday, in the village of Kisan, east of the governorate. The intervention targeted 22 livestock farmers as part of the Ministry of Agriculture's emergency response program to bolster the resilience of farmers in areas most affected by the current conditions.
The intervention included the distribution of 22 bales of straw, each weighing 450 kilograms, for a total of 9.9 tons of straw. This aims to alleviate the financial burden of feed costs and production inputs, and to support the continuity of agricultural and livestock activities in the area.
Bethlehem Directorate of Agriculture affirms that this intervention is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's urgent and emergency response program, and aligns with the Ministry's approach of rapidly addressing the immediate needs of farmers. This comes amidst escalating attacks by the Israeli occupation army and settler groups aimed at seizing farmers' lands and livelihoods, thus contributing to the protection of their agricultural holdings and livestock, and strengthening their resilience and steadfastness on their land.
For its part, Kisan Village Council commended the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and the staff of the Bethlehem Directorate of Agriculture, emphasizing the importance of continued coordination and field partnerships to support farmers and livestock breeders and bolster the resilience of the agricultural sector in the village.
