Hebron Directorate of Agriculture participated in a celebration organized by Hebron/France Cultural Cooperation Association to distribute lavender seedlings to 50 women participating in the "Aroma of the Mountains" project. The event took place in the association's garden in the Old City of Hebron.
This activity is part of "Aroma of the Mountains" project, implemented by the association to revive Palestinian folk heritage and utilize mountain and desert plants with fragrant aromas and natural properties. The project involves producing eco-friendly fabric bags containing dried plants for use in closets and other enclosed spaces.
During the event, hundreds of lavender seedlings were distributed to the participating women, along with agricultural guidance on how to care for the seedlings at home. This initiative contributes to the women's economic empowerment and enhances their participation in home-based production projects.
The Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes the importance of supporting community-based agricultural initiatives that contribute to preserving heritage plants and strengthening women's role in home-based production projects, thereby supporting the family economy and promoting sustainable agriculture.
