Ministry of Agriculture: Hebron Agriculture Directorate carries out work of collecting and planting forest seeds in Wadi al-Qaf nurseries

The Technical Department at Hebron Agriculture Directorate carried out the collection of forest seeds from local trees and their cultivation in Wadi al-Qaf government nurseries, as part of the annual plan for forest plant production.

The work included collecting seeds from various forest species suitable for the local environment, sorting them, and preparing them according to technical standards before planting them in the nursery under optimal conditions to ensure a high germination rate and excellent production quality. The work also included monitoring irrigation and caring for the seedlings in their early stages to ensure their healthy growth.

This activity comes within the framework of the Ministry of Agriculture's ongoing efforts to preserve and enhance vegetation cover by propagating local forest species and rehabilitating degraded areas, especially in regions affected by environmental factors and various forms of encroachment, thus contributing to supporting biodiversity and improving the local environment. Hebron Agriculture Directorate confirms that this step is part of an integrated program to produce high-quality forest seedlings, in preparation for their use in upcoming afforestation campaigns in various areas of the governorate, in cooperation with local authorities and partner institutions, in order to enhance environmental sustainability and expand the green space.
