Ministry of Agriculture: Hebron Agriculture Directorate holds a training workshop on combating fruit flies on grapes in cooperation with the Red Cross

Hebron Agriculture Directorate/General Directorate of Plant Protection, represented by the Pest Control and Monitoring Department, in cooperation with the Red Cross and the Directorate, organized a field training workshop targeting a number of farmers in Hebron Governorate on methods of combating the Mediterranean fruit fly on grape crops.

The workshop included a field visit to a grape farm, during which a practical demonstration was given on methods of early detection of the pest and the best control methods, with an emphasis on implementing integrated pest management programs and using environmentally friendly traps, given the importance of grapes as one of the most prominent agricultural crops in the governorate.

Approximately 12 farmers participated in the workshop, during which the Red Cross distributed about 400 attractant traps for catching the Mediterranean fruit fly, in a step aimed at supporting farmers and reducing the spread of the pest, thus contributing to improving the quality and efficiency of production.

This activity is part of joint efforts to raise farmers' awareness and implement sustainable agricultural practices, which enhance crop protection and support the resilience of farmers in Hebron Governorate.
