Jerusalem Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with Jerusalem Governorate and with funding from the Moroccan Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency, conducted a field day for 15 olive farmers in the town of Abu Dis. This activity was part of the Field Schools program, which aims to enhance agricultural knowledge and develop technical practices among farmers.

The activity, which took place during the weekly Field School meetings, included supplemental irrigation of olive trees and the placement of yellow traps to monitor insects and agricultural pests and track their spread. This contributes to improved pest management and reduces their impact on production.

The activity aims to enhance farmers' efficiency in applying sound agricultural practices and improve olive tree productivity and crop quality through direct practical training and the exchange of experiences in the fields.

Jerusalem Directorate of Agriculture affirms that the Field Schools serve as an effective extension model for transferring modern agricultural knowledge and technologies to farmers, contributing to strengthening their resilience and empowering them to face various agricultural challenges. This activity is being implemented as part of the joint efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture, Jerusalem Governorate and Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency to support the agricultural sector in Jerusalem Governorate and to develop the olive sector as one of the most important agricultural and economic sectors in the region.
