Jerusalem Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with the Jerusalem Governorate, implemented a field day targeting (10) farmers from the town of Jaba, northeast of Jerusalem, as part of the activities of the field schools project funded by the Moroccan Bayt Mal Jerusalem Agency.
The field day included the implementation of a number of extension and applied activities aimed at enhancing farmers’ knowledge and improving their agricultural practices. The activity of supplementary irrigation of olive trees was carried out, and training on preparing and using Bordeaux solution was carried out, in addition to introducing food traps and their importance in combating agricultural pests.
The activity also included hanging yellow traps to monitor insects and pests that affect olive trees, with the aim of enhancing integrated control methods and reducing damage to the crop.
This activity comes within the framework of the field schools project implemented in seven villages in Jerusalem Governorate, which aims to raise the capabilities of farmers and develop their skills through practical and applied training, thus contributing to improving agricultural production and enhancing the steadfastness of farmers on their lands.
