Jerusalem Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with Jerusalem Governorate and with funding from the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency, conducted a field day in the town of Abu Dis, targeting olive farmers, as part of the weekly field school meetings.
The field day included practical training on pruning olive trees according to sound technical principles, along with field monitoring and assessment of the trees' overall condition, contributing to improved productivity and fruit quality. Farmers were also introduced to the application of Bordeaux mixture and its effectiveness in combating olive pests, enhancing their ability to address field challenges. Successful installations carried out during previous meetings were also reviewed.
The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that these activities are part of its efforts to support farmers' resilience, promote sound agricultural practices, and transfer technical expertise through the field school model, positively impacting the development of the olive sector in the Jerusalem Governorate.
