On the instructions of the Minister of Agriculture, Professor Rizq Slaimiya, the Minister's Advisor for Governorate Affairs, Engineer Samir Samara, and the Director General of the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Zafer Al-Hamshari, participated in the government delegation that visited Um Safa in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate. The delegation, which included several ministers, undersecretaries, and representatives of government institutions, aimed to assess the situation on the ground and identify the needs of the residents in light of the ongoing attacks perpetrated by the occupation and its settlers against the citizens, their agricultural lands, and their property. The visit included a field tour of the western and northern areas of the town, where the delegation observed the bulldozing and threat of confiscation facing agricultural lands, as well as the repeated attacks targeting residents' homes. The visit also included a stop at Um Safa School and concluded with an extensive meeting with the village council and residents. During this meeting, the delegation listened to the most pressing challenges and needs, and emphasized the importance of integrated government efforts to bolster the resilience of the residents and enable them to remain on their land.

Mr. Samir Samara, advisor to the Minister of Agriculture, confirmed that the Ministry's participation in this visit came at the direct instruction of Minister Professor Riziq Slaimiya, who is deeply committed to monitoring the situation of farmers in the targeted areas and ensuring the Ministry of Agriculture's involvement in all government efforts aimed at protecting the land and strengthening the resilience of its owners. Samara added that Minister Slaimiya always emphasizes that protecting agricultural lands is not merely a sectoral responsibility, but a national one that contributes to strengthening the resilience of citizens and enhancing Palestinian food security. He stressed that the Ministry will continue implementing its relief and development programs, providing technical and advisory support to farmers, and working with various partners to deliver agricultural interventions that meet the needs of the most targeted areas.

For his part, Engineer Zafer Al-Hamshari explained that Ramallah and Al-Bireh Agriculture Directorate is continuously monitoring the situation of farmers in the town of Um Safa, working to identify their agricultural needs and assess the damage inflicted on lands and crops. This contributes to directing the Ministry's interventions according to priorities and field needs.

The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that its participation in this visit comes within the framework of its commitment to fieldwork as part of the government team, and to implementing the directives of Minister Professor Rizq Saiamiya to follow up on the visit's outcomes and translate the identified agricultural needs into practical programs and interventions. This will strengthen the resilience of farmers, preserve agricultural lands, and support citizens remaining on their land despite the challenges imposed by the occupation and its settlers.
