Ministry of Agriculture: 2,757 enlarged olive seedlings distributed in the town of Ithna to support 68 farmers affected by the occupation’s attacks, as part of the emergency response program in cooperation with JICA

Hebron Directorate of Agriculture, through its Agriculture and Veterinary Department in the town of Ithna, distributed three-year-old olive saplings, following directives from the Minister of Agriculture, Professor Riziq Slaimiya, as part of the emergency response project to support farmers affected by Israeli attacks.

The distribution included 2,757 olive saplings in Ithna, benefiting 68 farmers. This initiative is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to compensate farmers for losses incurred after Israeli forces recently uprooted more than 4,000 olive trees and destroyed approximately 200 dunams of agricultural land. Additionally, more than 70 farmers along the separation wall adjacent to the town were affected.

The distribution of these saplings is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to compensate for the losses suffered by farmers. The activity was implemented with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and in the presence of the Director General of the Hebron Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Sahar Al-Sha'rawi; the Director General of Agricultural Extension at the Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Salah Al-Baba; the Director of Agriculture and Veterinary Services in Idhna, Engineer Thaer Amr; along with directors of technical and service departments within the directorate, representatives from the Ministry, the Mayor of Ithna, Dr. Jaber Atayza, and the representative of the Hebron Governorate, Dr. Musa Al-Salibi.

The Ministry affirms that these interventions are part of its ongoing plans to strengthen the resilience of farmers and rehabilitate damaged agricultural lands, thereby contributing to the sustainability of the agricultural sector in the targeted areas.
