The Ministry of Agriculture distributes 465 enlarged olive seedlings to farmers affected by the occupation's violations in Beit Awa and the western line of southern Hebron

The Ministry of Agriculture distributed 465 mature olive saplings to 18 farmers affected by Israeli violations in Beit Awa and Western Line areas, south of Hebron, on Sunday. The distribution, which took place in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture Professor Riziq Slaimiya, is part of the Ministry's urgent response to support farmers and strengthen their resilience on their land.

This initiative falls within the fourth phase of the Ministry's urgent response program in southern Hebron, aimed at supporting farmers whose lands have been attacked and enabling them to rehabilitate their agricultural lands and continue their farming despite the challenges.

The event was attended by representatives from Fateh movement – ​​Southern Hebron region, the Joint Services Council, and representatives from the area's village councils. The Minister met with the beneficiary farmers and listened to their concerns regarding the ongoing violations and abuses against the agricultural sector. During the meeting, Minister Salimiya affirmed that the Ministry of Agriculture is continuously monitoring the situation of farmers and working to provide all possible forms of support to bolster their resilience on their land. He emphasized that the Ministry and its staff will remain committed to supporting Palestinian farmers to the best of their ability.

He noted that these interventions are part of the Ministry's programs aimed at supporting the agricultural sector and compensating affected farmers, particularly in threatened areas, as well as encouraging olive tree cultivation due to its economic and national importance and its symbolism of steadfastness and attachment to the land.
