The Ministry of Agriculture supplied two electronic milking parlors to two model sheep farms in the towns of Aqrabah in Nablus Governorate and Kafr Haris in Salfit Governorate. This was part of "Supporting Palestinian Resilience in Area C through the Sustainable Livestock Development Program" project, jointly funded by the European Union and the Palestinian government, and implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture in coordination with the Ministry of Finance.

The total cost of the two parlors was 945,000 shekels. They were supplied by the Turkish company MBF in cooperation with its authorized agent in Palestine, Al-Hasad Al-Haditha Company. The project aims to support the small ruminant breed improvement program, increase livestock production efficiency, and provide accurate and reliable data on milk production and update farm production records.

In Aqrabah, an electronic milking parlor serves a model farm with approximately 250 sheep, while a similar farm in Kafr Haris houses around 270 sheep. This initiative aligns with the Ministry's strategy to develop model farms that can be leveraged to implement modern management and production methods.

Minister of Agriculture, Professor Rizq Slaimiya, emphasized that the introduction of electronic milking parlors represents a significant step in supporting the breed improvement and genetic selection program. This is achieved by providing accurate production data, which facilitates the selection of animals with superior production traits, improves herd management and feeding, and reduces the time, effort, and costs associated with milking.

The Ministry explains that these technologies, coupled with sound management and documentation of production data, will contribute to the development of genetically improved flocks, increase sheep milk and meat production, enhance the quality of livestock products, and bolster farmers' income and resilience. This, in turn, supports the Ministry's efforts to develop the livestock sector and achieve sustainable development. The supply of electronic milking machines comes within the framework of the Ministry of Agriculture’s efforts to develop the livestock sector, promote the use of modern agricultural technologies, increase farmers’ productivity, improve the quality of animal products, and develop breed improvement and genetic selection programs, which contribute to achieving sustainable development for the agricultural sector and enhancing the resilience of farmers in various governorates.
