Ministry of Agriculture: Slaimiya announces the completion of the official accreditation of Palestinian products in the Saudi market, and calls on exporters to start exporting only surplus products

In a significant step towards enhancing the presence of Palestinian agricultural products in regional markets, Minister of Agriculture Professor Riziq Slaimiya called on Palestinian exporters to seize the opportunity to export to the Saudi market, following the completion of registration and accreditation procedures with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Slaimiya explained that the Ministry of Agriculture, through its specialized technical departments, has completed all the technical and procedural requirements for the accreditation of Palestinian agricultural products, including the approval of phytosanitary certificates at Saudi border crossings, after fulfilling the quality requirements and standards stipulated by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Kingdom.

Slaimiya emphasized that the Saudi market represents a promising marketing opportunity for Palestinian products, especially given the short shipping and delivery times, which contributes to maintaining product quality and enhances opportunities for farmers to achieve profitable prices. The Minister called on exporters to immediately begin export procedures and seize this strategic opportunity to open new markets for Palestinian products, thus contributing to supporting the resilience of farmers in the face of current challenges.

He also noted that he had instructed the Jordanian-Palestinian Company to commence export operations, with the first shipment of lemons expected to be exported to farmers in Qalqilya Governorate.

In closing, Slaimiya expressed his gratitude to the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, for its cooperation and facilitation of the registration and certification procedures for Palestinian agricultural products, reflecting the deep fraternal relations between the two countries.
