The Ministry of Agriculture, Jenin Governorate, and the Palestinian Center for Economic and Social Development inaugurate the almond season in Jenin Governorate

Governor Kamal Abu Al-Rub inaugurated the almond harvest season in the town of Raba, south of Jenin Governorate. He also inaugurated several agricultural projects in the southern Jenin area as part of the Greening Palestine project. The Governor visited a model farm for fruit and almond trees in Raba, owned by Ahmed Zubaidat, in the presence of the Director General of Agriculture for Jenin Governorate, Eng. Omar Bisharat; the Deputy Director General of the Palestinian Center for Economic and Social Development in the North, Jamal Mabsalt; the Mayor of Qabatiya, Bilal Assaf; the Director of Civil Liaison in the Governorate, Wael Al-Bazour; and staff from the Directorate of Agriculture and the Governorate.

Governor Abu Al-Rub conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas ("Abu Mazen") to the farmers, emphasizing the importance of supporting these agricultural projects to strengthen their resilience and protect the land, especially in light of the recent settlement expansion in Raba. He thanked the Ministry of Agriculture, the Palestinian Center, and Oxfam for their support of the agricultural sector in the Governorate. For his part, Basharat pointed out that these projects come within the efforts to support the agricultural sector and reclaim lands threatened with confiscation, through planting almond seedlings and providing support to farmers, which contributes to providing food security, supporting local products and breaking free from the occupation economy. These interventions came in partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture with the Palestinian Center for Economic and Social Development and with funding from Oxfam. For his part, Mabsalt thanked the active farmer Al-Zubaidat for his dedication to work, which prompted us, along with the Ministry of Agriculture, to provide everything possible to produce a model farm with an area of ​​(60) dunams with almond trees, which was an incentive for many farmers to adopt this pattern of intensive agriculture with the introduction and replanting of almonds in the region and the governorate.
