The Ministry of Agriculture and the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission discuss the best mechanisms for documenting the occupation's violations and ways to protect the land and enhance the resilience of farmers

A high-level coordination meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture headquarters, attended by His Excellency Minister Professor Riziq Slaimiya, His Excellency Undersecretary of the Ministry Engineer Bader Hawamdeh, Mr. Abdullah Abu Rahma, representative of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, and a team from the Commission, along with all directors of the agricultural directorates in the governorates of the homeland and the sectoral committee for documenting agricultural damage.

Professor Slaimiya stressed that "supporting the steadfastness of farmers and protecting the land" is a top priority for the Ministry's work in light of the ongoing occupation attacks and violations. He emphasized the need to unify efforts to support the agricultural sector, which he described as a sector of resilience and defiance.

Slaimiya also noted that the Ministry works diligently with all donors and international institutions to provide the necessary funding and assistance to farmers, with the aim of revitalizing agricultural development, strengthening their resilience, and enabling them to remain on their land.

For his part, Mr. Abu Rahma emphasized the necessity of joint efforts to document agricultural violations as a fundamental step to protect farmers and their land.

This meeting comes as part of a concerted effort to dedicate all available resources and capabilities to developing a unified national vision that protects the Palestinian agricultural sector and supports the resilience of farmers as the first line of defense for their land and national identity.

On another note, His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Engineer Bader Al-Hawamdeh, discussed the comprehensive framework for a joint operational mechanism. This mechanism aims to standardize reports and statistics related to the damages suffered by the agricultural sector, ensuring clarity and organization. This will guarantee a rapid response, accurate information, and effective implementation on the ground. He emphasized that all the Ministry's recently opened departments and offices are ready to cooperate and facilitate this work.
