The Ministry of Agriculture and “Tasdeer”          (export) program, funded by the British government, launched the Palestinian Agricultural Calendar. This calendar details the production areas, quantities, and seasons for a range of crops across the Palestinian territories, based on production data and field monitoring conducted by marketing and extension teams and agricultural directorates.

Minister of Agriculture, Professor Rizq Slaimiya, affirmed that the Ministry is committed to every avenue for advancing the agricultural sector and enhancing the competitiveness of Palestinian products in terms of quality. He noted that Palestinian products such as dates, olive oil, avocados, lemons, and guavas have acquired a distinct Palestinian agricultural identity with an international presence. He emphasized that agriculture is not merely a productive and economic sector, but a national sector that contributes to protecting the land, enhancing food security, and supporting farmers' resilience.

For his part, Professor Nassim Nour praised the cooperation between Tasdeer and the Ministry of Agriculture, emphasizing that the calendar serves as a tool to support production and marketing policies, direct investment towards crops with marketable and exportable potential, and open up opportunities for the food industries. He noted the program's commitment to continuing cooperation in a way that benefits the agricultural sector and Palestinian farmers.

The meeting discussed enhancing coordination to implement joint agricultural activities during the remaining period of the program until March 2028, and working to update the calendar through joint field research and expanding the range of covered commodities to reflect changes in production patterns since October 7th. They also discussed working early to ensure that agriculture is a fundamental component in the next phase of the program.

Tasdeer provided 1,500 printed copies of the calendar for public use and 100 posters for the agricultural directorates and general departments within the Ministry.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Sector Tariq Abu Laban, Assistant Undersecretary Adiba Musleh, Director General of Planning and Policies Eng.
