The Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with FAO, conducted a field follow-up of the "Green Jobs" project in the town of Surif to verify the commitment of 145 farmers to cultivate the targeted field and fodder crops

Surif Extension Office, affiliated with the North of Hebron Agriculture Directorate, represented by Engineer Haya Akhlil, and in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) representative, Engineer Mu'min Shehadeh, conducted field visits to beneficiary farmers in the town of Surif. These visits were part of the ongoing monitoring of the "Green Jobs and Sustainable Income Opportunities for Young Palestinian Women and Men in the Agricultural and Food Business Sector" project.

The visits aimed to verify farmers' adherence to the cultivation of the targeted crops, which included lentils, chickpeas, vetch, and alfalfa, according to the plans submitted and approved by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The project is funded by the Danish government, in partnership with the FAO, and under the supervision and monitoring of the Ministry of Agriculture, contributing to the support of the agricultural sector and the enhancement of local production.

A total of 145 farmers in the town of Surif applied to benefit from the project, and the verification process of cultivation practices and compliance with the approved eligibility criteria is currently underway. The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that this project falls within its ongoing efforts to enhance the resilience of farmers, create sustainable job opportunities for young people, contribute to achieving food security, and support agricultural development paths in Palestine.
