The Ministry of Agriculture and UNDP inaugurate a training course to enhance the communication and knowledge transfer skills of 20 ministry staff members.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Bader Al-Hawamdeh, inaugurated a training course entitled "Effective Knowledge Transfer Techniques and Extension Communication Skills." Twenty employees from the Ministry of Agriculture are participating in the course, which is being held in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The course aims to enhance the efficiency of technical and extension staff, enabling them to simplify information and translate it into practical applications for farmers and livestock breeders.

The course is part of the Ministry's food security initiative and falls under the "My Initiative" project, implemented in partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture and UNDP, with support from the Palestinian International Cooperation Agency (PICA) and funding from the governments of India, Brazil, and South Africa through the IBSA Fund. The livestock component of the project focuses on reducing infant mortality, promoting cooperative work and field schools, empowering women farmers, and developing agricultural marketing skills.

The two-day course includes training in verbal and non-verbal communication skills, adult education, simplifying scientific information, and using interactive training methods. It also covers presentation, persuasion, and storytelling skills, as well as managing objections and designing extension messages that support behavioral change and the adoption of modern agricultural practices.

The Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes the importance of continuing to build the capacities of its technical and extension staff and developing the system of services provided to farmers and livestock breeders. This will contribute to more effective knowledge transfer, increased production efficiency, protection of livestock, and enhanced food security.
