
Governorates: September 30, 2026
On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, the Veterinary Services and Animal Health directorates and departments of the Ministry of Agriculture conducted preventive vaccination campaigns across several governorates. A total of 5,079 vaccine doses were administered, benefiting 159 livestock breeders in six governorates.
The campaigns covered the governorates of Jenin, Tubas and the Northern Jordan Valley, Jerusalem, Qalqilya, Hebron, and South Hebron (Dura). They aimed to protect livestock from various epidemic diseases, most notably Foot-and-Mouth Disease, Brucellosis, Goat Pox, and Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR).
In Jenin, 678 doses were administered to 7 breeders. Veterinary services in Tubas and the Northern Jordan Valley administered 631 doses to 14 breeders in Al-Far'a and Al-Ras Al-Ahmar. In Jerusalem, 510 doses were administered to 7 breeders, while in Qalqilya, 210 doses were administered to 4 breeders in the areas of Jayyus, Qalqilya, and Hajjah. In the southern Hebron/Dura area, a total of 1,633 vaccine doses were administered, benefiting 33 livestock owners in Deir Shams areas. Meanwhile, Hebron Veterinary Services Department carried out 1,417 vaccinations, benefiting 94 livestock owners and farmers across various parts of the governorate.
These campaigns are part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s preventive vaccination program, which aims to protect livestock, curb the spread of epidemic diseases, and enhance herd health and the sustainability of livestock owners' income sources. This is achieved through the continued deployment of veterinary teams to target areas to administer vaccinations based on field requirements.
