Ministry of Agriculture: Tulkarm Agriculture Directorate holds an orientation meeting for ten farmers in Anabta in cooperation with the Green Mountain of Olive Company

Tulkarm Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with the Green Mountain of Olive Company, implemented an extension meeting (field observation) targeting ten olive farmers in the town of Anabta, as part of the efforts made to enhance agricultural extension and raise the efficiency of farmers in managing olive groves.
During the meeting, the importance of periodic monitoring of pests that affect olive trees was discussed. The most common pests, such as the olive leaf fly, the jasmine moth, and the olive psyllid, were discussed, with an explanation of the ways to identify them and the mechanisms for reducing their spread.
The meeting also discussed peacock eye disease, which is one of the common fungal diseases in olive groves, where methods of combating it and preventive measures that contribute to reducing its spread and preserving the health of trees were explained.
The meeting also included talking about the importance of balanced fertilization and adding the necessary nutrients to trees, especially spraying boron and zinc, because they have an important role in improving tree growth and increasing productivity, in addition to clarifying the appropriate timings for spraying and fertilizing operations to ensure achieving the best results.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the spray solution was prepared practically in front of the farmers and applied to the trees in the field, with the aim of enhancing the practical benefit of the participants and enabling them to implement these procedures correctly in their orchards.
