As part of the EVAP3 project activities, Salfit Directorate of Agriculture organized an exchange visit for 20 citrus farmers from Wadi Qana Association – Deir Istiya to Tulkarm wholesale market and several model citrus groves in the governorate. The visit aimed to enhance marketing opportunities and facilitate the exchange of agricultural expertise.
The tour began with a visit to the Tulkarme wholesale market, where participants learned about marketing mechanisms and ways to open marketing channels for citrus crops. This will contribute to improving market access and increasing the economic viability for farmers.
The visit also included field trips to model citrus groves in Tulkarem. These visits aimed to promote knowledge and experience sharing among farmers and to introduce them to best agricultural practices and modern technologies in citrus farm management, which will positively impact the quality and efficiency of production. The visit was supervised by Engineer Rula Essam, Head of the Tree Horticulture Department, with the participation of Engineer Maysaa Maakousa and Engineer Labib Obeid, Director of Extension, who emphasized the importance of these activities in developing the capabilities of farmers and enhancing the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
