Ministry of Agriculture: Salfit Agriculture Directorate, Oxfam, the Palestinian Center and Al-Reef Company launch the distribution of agricultural supplies to support 145 farmers within the "Promoting Green Gold for the Palestinian Economy" project

Salfit Directorate of Agriculture, in cooperation with Oxfam and the Palestinian Center for Economic and Social Development, and in partnership with Al-Reef Company as its commercial partner in Palestine, launched the distribution of agricultural supplies to cooperative societies in the towns of Yasuf, Al-Zawiya, Mas'ha, Farkha, and Deir Istiya in Salfit Governorate, as part of the "Promoting Green Gold for the Palestinian Economy" project.

The "Promoting Green Gold for the Palestinian Economy" project is led by Oxfam and implemented by the Palestinian Center for Economic and Social Development (ESDC), in partnership with Al-Reef Company as its commercial partner in Palestine, and is funded by the Danida Green Business Partnership (DGBP) program through the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture.

The project aims to enhance the resilience of olive farmers, improve the efficiency of olive grove management, and boost production quality by providing cooperatives with a package of agricultural supplies. These supplies include irrigation networks and lines, water tanks, olive fly traps, micronutrient fertilizers, spray pumps, manual olive harvesting combs, and burlap sacks, all of which contribute to the development of the olive sector and the improvement of agricultural practices.

These interventions targeted cooperatives in the beneficiary towns, impacting 145 farmers who are members of these cooperatives. This strengthens their production capacities and helps them overcome the challenges facing the olive sector.

These efforts are part of a partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture, development institutions, the private sector, and international partners, contributing to the sustainability of the olive sector, improving farmers' livelihoods, and strengthening their resilience on their land.
