Salfit Agriculture Directorate conducted a training workshop titled "Maintaining Farm Records and Its Impact on Improving Farm Profitability" for 15 beneficiaries from the tree horticulture group in the town of Deir Istiya (Wadi Qana). This activity was part of the "Improving Extension Services for High-Value Agriculture" (EVAP) project—specifically "Step 5"—implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture in partnership with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The workshop addressed the importance of maintaining and documenting farm records and their role in improving the management of agricultural activities. Key topics included recording farming operations, inputs, costs, and production quantities, as well as calculating net profit and making informed agricultural and economic decisions.
The workshop also highlighted the importance of using records to compare farm performance across different seasons.
The workshop was conducted by agricultural engineers Rola Issam and Maysaa Ma'kousa, who presented the training material and facilitated practical exercises on the mechanisms for preparing and maintaining farm records.
It is worth noting that this workshop is part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s efforts to develop extension services and enhance farmers' capabilities, thereby increasing production efficiency and supporting the sustainability of agricultural projects.
