Ministry of Agriculture: Ramallah and Al-Bireh Agriculture Directorate implements the practical aspect of the bee colony division and queen rearing training course

Ramallah and Al-Bireh Directorate of Agriculture conducted the practical component of a specialized training course on bee colony division and queen rearing. This course is part of its extension program aimed at developing beekeepers' skills and enhancing their technical and practical competence.

The field training took place in several apiaries within the governorate. Participants learned about scientifically sound methods for dividing bee colonies, techniques for selecting queens with high production characteristics, and the steps involved in queen rearing and monitoring its success within the colonies. This training was supervised by specialized beekeeping engineers.

This practical component aims to enable participants to translate the theoretical knowledge they acquired during the course into direct, practical applications. This will enhance their ability to manage apiaries more efficiently, contribute to increased production, improve colony quality, and promote their sustainability. Ramallah and Al-Bireh Agriculture Directorate affirms that practical training constitutes a fundamental pillar in building the expertise of beekeepers and developing the beekeeping sector in the governorate, noting that these activities come within the Ministry of Agriculture’s continuous efforts to support this vital sector, enhance its contribution to food security and improve farmers’ income.
