Ministry of Agriculture: Bethlehem Agriculture Directorate is implementing field school meetings in the schools of Battir and Husan in partnership with FAO and The Arab Agricultural Engineers Association

As part of the "Supporting Sustainable Tourism" project implemented by FAO in partnership with The Ministry of Agriculture, Bethlehem Directorate of Agriculture, in coordination with The Directorate of Education, conducted a series of field meetings with students participating in the field schools at Battir Boys' Secondary School and Tel Al-Rabee' School in the town of Husan.

These meetings were conducted by Engineer Fidaa Zawahra from Bethlehem Directorate of Agriculture. The activity targeted 36 students (18 students from each school) and included the application of the agricultural environmental analysis methodology to enhance scientific observation skills and the diagnosis of field problems. Interactive activities on agricultural resource management and the rational use of environmental inputs were also implemented. The activities concluded with the planting of new seedlings to reinforce the practical aspects and promote the concepts of sustainable agriculture.

These meetings are part of an effort to strengthen the role of field schools as an effective development tool for transferring applied agricultural knowledge and to support the adoption of sustainable agriculture and ecotourism concepts in Bethlehem Governorate.
