Ministry of Agriculture: Jerusalem Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with Jerusalem Governorate funded by the Moroccan Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, is implementing an extension activity for grafting olive trees in Beit Surik and Biddu

Jerusalem Agriculture Directorate conducted a specialized extension activity for olive farmers in the towns of Beit Surik and Biddu, as part of the Field Schools project funded by the Moroccan Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, in cooperation with Jerusalem Governorate. This activity is part of the ongoing seasonal agricultural activities of the Field Schools.

The field day was held as part of the continuous follow-up to the Field School programs. Practical training was provided on how to graft and propagate olive trees using various methods, contributing to improved productivity and increased tree efficiency.

Engineer Muhammad Sarhan conducted the practical application of grafting and propagating olive trees with the participation of the farmers, providing a technical explanation of the approved methods and best practices in this field. The necessary grafting tools were also distributed to the farmers to support the continued application of what they learned in the field.

It is worth noting that the Moroccan Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency has implemented a series of activities in recent times to support the agricultural sector in Jerusalem Governorate. These activities have included funding and implementing Field School programs, organizing field days and specialized training courses, and providing farmers with agricultural supplies, thus strengthening their resilience and enabling them to develop their production and improve their income sources. This activity comes as an extension of the existing partnership between the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agency, which aims to build the capacities of farmers and transfer applied knowledge to them, which will positively impact the development of the olive sector in Jerusalem Governorate and enhance its sustainability.
