On Sunday, 6/14/2026, the Agricultural Control Committee in Nablus Agriculture Directorate, with the participation of the Customs Control Service and the Ministry of National Economy, destroyed 4,395 kilograms of olive oil that did not conform to Palestinian specifications in the town of Aqraba, south of Nablus Governorate.
The destruction process came after the completion of detection, examination and verification that the seized quantities did not conform to the approved Palestinian specifications and standards, as part of the joint efforts made by the regulatory authorities to protect the consumer and ensure the safety of products traded in the Palestinian markets.
The file was also referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the necessary legal procedures against violators in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
The Ministry of Agriculture confirms that these measures come within the Ministry's policy aimed at strengthening control over agricultural and food products, and confronting various forms of fraud and manipulation that harm the consumer and the national producer alike.
The Ministry stresses that protecting Palestinian olive oil and preserving its reputation and quality in local and foreign markets represents a national priority, stressing the continuation of monitoring and inspection campaigns in cooperation with partners to ensure compliance with Palestinian specifications and combat any practices that would harm citizens or harm the national product.
The Ministry calls on citizens to purchase products from reliable sources and to report any violations or suspected cases of fraud, which contributes to protecting public health and enhancing confidence in Palestinian products.
