The Ministry of Agriculture—through its veterinary services and animal health departments—conducted veterinary vaccination campaigns across 11 veterinary districts spanning eight governorates. These campaigns involved vaccinating sheep and livestock herds against several animal diseases, aligning with the Ministry's efforts to prevent epidemic diseases, protect livestock resources, enhance herd health, and support farmers and livestock breeders.
A total of 16,588 doses were administered, comprising 10,687 doses against Foot-and-Mouth Disease, 3,114 doses against Brucellosis, 2,237 doses against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), and 550 doses against sheep pox. According to reports from the veterinary departments, the initiative benefited 361 farmers and livestock breeders. The campaigns included the Nablus Veterinary Department, where 736 head of livestock were vaccinated against brucellosis in Khirbet al-Tawil (Aqraba) and Beit Furik for 16 farmers; and the Hebron Veterinary Department, which vaccinated 588 female replacement animals against brucellosis in Khallet al-Jarra (Tarqumiya) and the areas of Al-Habla al-Hamra, Al-Ras, and Wadi al-Bir (Idhna) for 58 livestock owners. Additionally, Yatta Veterinary Department conducted a joint agricultural-veterinary operation in Beit Amra, during which approximately 4,000 head were vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease and 300 against brucellosis for about 40 farmers. Meanwhile, the North Hebron Veterinary Department carried out a campaign in Sa'ir, Halhul, Al-Shuyukh, and Birin, administering 2,000 doses for foot-and-mouth disease and 700 for brucellosis to 83 farmers.
In Jenin, vaccinations included 200 doses against foot-and-mouth disease, 25 against brucellosis, 200 against Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), and 50 against sheep pox. Additionally, Ramallah Veterinary Department administered 850 doses for foot-and-mouth disease and 175 for brucellosis in Saffa area, benefiting 21 individuals. Finally, the South Hebron/Dura Veterinary Services Department conducted a campaign in Beit Awwa involving 322 doses for foot-and-mouth disease and 50 for brucellosis for 28 livestock owners, in addition to administering 1,500 doses against PPR in Al-Burj area. Bethlehem Veterinary Services administered 1,150 doses of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccine to 22 beneficiaries and 250 doses of Brucellosis vaccine to 20 beneficiaries in the Arab al-Rashayda area, in addition to 50 doses of sheep pox vaccine for a beneficiary in Tuqu'. Meanwhile, the Jerusalem Veterinary Services administered 1,000 FMD doses, 165 Brucellosis doses, 200 Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) doses, and 150 pox doses to 28 beneficiaries. In Al-Jiftlik, Jericho Veterinary Services administered 1,078 FMD doses, 125 Brucellosis doses, 300 pox doses, and 50 PPR doses to 42 beneficiaries, while Qalqilya Veterinary Services administered 87 FMD doses and 87 PPR doses to two beneficiaries.
The Ministry of Agriculture affirms the continuation of field vaccination campaigns across various governorates. These efforts contribute to enhancing health protection for livestock, curbing the spread of epidemic diseases, and strengthening the capacity of farmers and livestock breeders to maintain their herds and ensure the sustainability of livestock production.
