The veterinary services and animal health departments of the Ministry of Agriculture implemented field vaccination campaigns against foot-and-mouth disease and brucellosis in the governorates of Hebron, Jenin, Bethlehem, and Jerusalem, where the total number of doses implemented reached 2,299 doses, benefiting 46 breeders.
In the South Hebron/Dura Veterinary Department, 75 doses were vaccinated against brucellosis and 324 doses against foot-and-mouth disease in sheep in Wadi Abu Al-Qamra area in the city of Dura, for 17 breeders. Jenin Veterinary Department also implemented the vaccination of 25 doses against brucellosis and 70 doses against foot-and-mouth disease for sheep as part of the SAT-1 campaign, from which 4 breeders benefited.
In Bethlehem Veterinary Department, 550 doses were administered against foot-and-mouth disease for sheep and 170 doses against brucellosis for females intended for replacement in the Kaysan area, for the benefit of 10 breeders, while Jerusalem Veterinary Department carried out immunization of 960 doses against foot-and-mouth disease and 125 doses against brucellosis for the benefit of 15 farmers.
These campaigns come within the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and its veterinary teams to prevent and control animal diseases, enhance the health and safety of livestock, and protect breeders’ investments and property, as veterinary teams continue to carry out vaccination work in the field in accordance with the Ministry’s approved plans.
