The Ministry of Agriculture, through its veterinary and animal health departments, continues to implement its ongoing campaign to vaccinate livestock and prevent epidemic diseases. This initiative is part of broader efforts to safeguard herd health, boost livestock production, and support livestock breeders. Today, veterinary departments administered a total of 11,178 vaccine doses across seven governorates, benefiting 169 livestock breeders.
This campaign is part of the Ministry's field operations, carried out by veterinary teams across various regions. By reaching livestock breeder communities and implementing vaccination programs based on health and veterinary priorities, the Ministry aims to curb disease spread, protect livestock, and enhance food security.
In Tubas, the campaign covered Al-Far'a area, where 1,270 doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine for sheep and 308 doses of brucellosis vaccine were administered, benefiting 21 breeders. In Jenin, 200 doses of Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccine, 25 doses of Brucellosis vaccine, and 400 doses of Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR) vaccine were administered to sheep belonging to nine livestock owners. Additionally, Ramallah and Al-Bireh veterinary services administered 1,500 FMD vaccine doses in Deir Ibzi' for two owners. In Jerusalem the campaign covered 1,200 FMD doses, 200 Brucellosis doses, 50 goatpox doses, and 50 PPR doses for ten beneficiaries. In Qalqilya, 150 doses of Brucellosis vaccine were administered in Jinsafut and Jayyus areas.
In Yatta, the campaign included 200 PPR vaccine doses for three owners, 200 goatpox doses for four owners, 800 FMD doses for sheep in Beit 'Amra for 14 owners, and 250 Brucellosis vaccine doses for 12 owners. In the South Hebron/Dura area, specifically in Deir Samit, 175 Brucellosis doses and 550 FMD doses were administered to livestock belonging to 25 owners, alongside 800 doses of PPR and goatpox vaccines in the Al-Dhahiriya area for eight owners.
In Bethlehem, 1,600 sheep were vaccinated against FMD, and 400 female replacement animals were vaccinated against Brucellosis in Arab al-Rashayda and Wadi Rahal areas, benefiting 23 livestock owners. The North Hebron Veterinary Services also conducted a campaign in Sa'ir, Halhul, and Bani Na'im areas, administering 600 doses against foot-and-mouth disease and 250 doses against brucellosis, benefiting 38 farmers.
The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that its veterinary teams continue to implement the vaccination campaign, reaching various regions and livestock communities. These efforts aim to prevent and curb the spread of epidemic diseases, protect livestock wealth, and safeguard farmers' investments, assets, and sources of income, thereby enhancing the sustainability of the livestock sector and ensuring food security.
