Ithna Agriculture and Veterinary Department, under the Hebron Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with Hebron Veterinary Department, conducted a field inspection tour targeting egg-laying hen farms in the town of Ithna. The tour aimed to monitor the implementation of biosecurity measures and ensure compliance with approved veterinary health standards.
During the tour, samples were taken from 11 farms, with a total production of approximately 200,000 eggs. These samples were sent to the Ministry's Food Safety Laboratory in Al-Aroub area for the necessary laboratory tests to ensure the safety of the eggs before they are marketed and approved for human consumption.
The tour also included updating farm data and production capacity information, and verifying that licensed veterinarians were supervising operations, thus enhancing performance efficiency and adherence to approved health standards.
These efforts are part of the Ministry of Agriculture's oversight role in monitoring the safety of animal products, protecting public health, and strengthening consumer confidence in local produce.
