Ministry of Agriculture: Methalon Department/Jenin and Agricultural Relief organize a training to support women, youth and small farmers in the fresh vegetable value chain in partnership with Oxfam and with funding from the Belgian Alliance.

The Agriculture and Veterinary Department in Methalon/Jenin , in cooperation with the Agricultural Development Association (Agricultural Relief), organized a specialized training course as part of the project "Increasing the Benefits of Women, Youth, and Smallholder Farmers as Change Agents in the Fresh Vegetable Value Chain." This project is implemented by Agricultural Relief in partnership with Oxfam and funded by the Belgian Development Agency.

The training aimed to enhance the capabilities of agricultural staff and workers in the agricultural sector, and to improve the efficiency of services provided to farmers. This was achieved by developing knowledge of the fresh vegetable value chain and empowering women, youth, and smallholder farmers to play an active role in developing this sector and achieving sustainable agricultural development.

The training also covered the safe use of pesticides and the application of integrated pest management methods, which contribute to improving production quality, protecting human health and the environment, and promoting sound agricultural practices.

This activity is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture and its partners to develop the fresh vegetable value chain, build the capacities of workers in the agricultural sector, and strengthen the role of women, youth, and smallholder farmers. This contributes to improving productivity, supporting food security, and achieving economic and social development in the targeted communities.
